Program Overview

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is recruiting a WAN Specialist in Islamabad for the World Bank-assisted 'Crisis Resilient Social Protection (CRISP) Program'. This is an Individual Consultant Services position offered on a contract basis.

Role and Responsibilities

The WAN Specialist will oversee BISP's network infrastructure, covering LAN, WAN, Intranet, and Extranet. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and troubleshooting routing, switching, and security solutions (VPN, SSH, SSL, MFA), managing PKI infrastructure, and handling wireless communications and fiber optic terminations.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualification: Minimum 16 years of education in Computer Science/IT or any related field from an HEC-recognized university.
Experience: Proven experience of more than 6-8 years specifically in the field of Internet working covering LAN, WAN, Intranet, extranet. Overall IT experience should be more than 12 years. Must have good knowledge and proven capabilities with wireless communication and fiber cable terminations. Hands-on experience is required in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting routing, switching, and security for sites and inter-site communications using VPN, SSH, SSL, multi-factor dynamic authentication protocols. Hands-on experience in managing PKI infrastructure is also essential.

A consultant shall be selected in accordance with the method contained in Section VII, paragraphs 7.36 and 7.37 of the “World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers”, July 2016 [Revised November 2017 and August 2018].
Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. T.A./D.A shall not be admissible.
Remuneration would be negotiable commensurating to qualification and experience of the candidate.
