Program Overview

Join the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in Islamabad as an Android Developer. This role is part of the World Bank-funded 'Crisis Resilient Social Protection (CRISP) Program' and involves providing Individual Consultancy Services on a contract basis.

Role and Responsibilities

The Android Developer will manage the complete development lifecycle for Android applications within BISP. Responsibilities include rolling out app updates, managing version control, integrating third-party libraries/APIs, understanding mobile trends, developing backend APIs, and database structuring. Experience with GIS and Geo-fencing is also required.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualification: Minimum 16 years of education with at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or any related field from an HEC-recognized university.
Experience: Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in management of the Complete Development Life Cycle within a reputable organization. Must be experienced in rolling out app updates in various Android platform app stores. Proficiency with version control systems like Git, SVN, TFS, etc., is required. Experience with third-party libraries and APIs is essential. Must possess working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies. Understanding of Geo points, Geo Fencing, and GIS mobile app development is needed. Ability to develop backend APIs and Database structure is mandatory.

A consultant shall be selected in accordance with the method contained in Section VII, paragraphs 7.36 and 7.37 of the “World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers”, July 2016 [Revised November 2017 and August 2018].

Remuneration would be negotiable commensurating to qualification and experience of the candidate.
