Power Planning & Monitoring Company (PPMC) is mandated to provide policy and technical support to the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), integrated planning of the Power Sector of Pakistan, development and implementation of strategic plans for the power sector, and to administer, monitor and evaluate performance of Power Sector Entities under approved policies/plans. The company seeks applications from eligible persons with strong interpersonal skills, outstanding problem-solving abilities, sound judgment, excellent communication, and IT proficiency.

Role Overview

The Specialist Technical will supervise and manage all technical aspects related to electric distribution companies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role involves overseeing quality assurance, maintaining technical standards, improving processes based on technological advancements, and conducting risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage technical aspects, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations for electric distribution companies.
• Oversee quality assurance for power distribution equipment.
• Design and maintain technical specifications and standards for materials and processes.
• Improve standards based on technological advancements and best practices.
• Conduct risk analysis and mitigation strategies for materials.
• Perform rigorous technical assessments of suppliers.
• Develop and implement quality assurance programs.
• Conduct audits and inspections for adherence to standards.
• Lead initiatives to improve efficiency and sustainability.
• Explore and assess innovative technologies for implementation.
• Analyze innovative ideas and strategies for power distribution systems.
• Write detailed working papers on technologies and policy impacts.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses for policy and technology adoption.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
• Document research findings and recommendations.
• Provide training on technical standards and quality assurance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities (SKA)

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering (16 years) from HEC recognized / affiliated institute/university having valid PEC license. A Master's in Business Administration / Master's degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering will be an advantage.
• Experience: Must have 05 years of relevant experience in a reputable national/multinational organization. Pakistan power sector experience and certifications in relevant field will be preferred.
• Knowledge: Deep knowledge of international and national standards (IEC, ANSI, NEMA, IEEE, ISO), Distribution Design Standards (DDS), and Product Description (PD) of electrical equipment. Experience in technical report writing and analysis. Knowledge of Power Sector problems and solutions. Knowledge about industries working for the power sector.
• Skills: Strong presentation and report writing skills.

Remuneration & Age

A market-based, competitive remuneration package commensurate with skills and experience will be offered. The maximum age limit is 40 years as of the closing date of this advertisement.
