Modelling Specialist

Job Overview

The Planning Commission is looking for two highly skilled Modelling Specialists to join the Energy Wing for the 'Integrated Energy Planning (IEP) for Sustainable Development' project. This is a senior contract position (Grade PPS-10) based in Islamabad. The specialists will be responsible for developing, applying, and maintaining complex energy models to support the formulation of a holistic energy strategy for Pakistan. This role is crucial for providing a credible analytical platform for assessing and planning the country's energy sector.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet the following rigorous criteria:

• Education: Master's degree (16 years qualification) in Computer Science, Management Science, Engineering, or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized institution. Preference will be given to candidates holding a Ph.D. or a Master's degree in the required fields.
• Experience: A total of ten (10) years of professional experience, with a minimum of seven (07) years of relevant experience specifically in the field of modeling, preferably energy systems modeling, applications, or simulation software with experience in the energy sector.
• Age: The maximum age limit is 45 years, relaxable as per government recruitment rules.

Appointment and Salary

The initial appointment will be on a contract basis for one year, which is extendable subject to satisfactory performance. The position offers a standard pay package for Project Staff at Grade PPS-10.
