Social Safeguard & Gender Specialist (NPP)

Project Overview

The Health Department, Govt. of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, seeks professionals for its Project Management & Implementation Unit (PMIU) handling the Revamping of Non-Teaching DHQ Hospitals. Posts are contractual (1-year initial term, extendable) under the Project Implementation Policy (PIP).

Role Description

The Social Safeguard & Gender Specialist (NPP - Negotiated Pay Package) will focus on addressing social impacts, promoting gender equality, and managing grievance redressal mechanisms related to the hospital projects. Responsibilities include community engagement, planning resettlement activities (if any), implementing gender mainstreaming strategies, and handling complaints.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Master's Degree or equivalent in Gender Studies, Social Sciences/development studies or other related fields, e.g., Anthropology, Sociology, Economics, Development, or Human Geography, or related field.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience after acquiring the required qualification, in community engagement, planning, implementation and management of resettlement activities, in gender issues (gender mainstreaming, gender equality, gender-based violence, women's empowerment, etc) and complaints resolution/grievance redress management.
• Preference: Given to candidates possessing other relevant educational qualifications and prior experience with foreign-funded projects.
• Age Limit: Maximum up to 40 years.

Location Details

Associated with the PMIU, likely based centrally (e.g., Peshawar) with potential travel across KP. Must possess domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa/Merged Districts.

Terms and Conditions

Contract appointment for 1 year initially (extendable). Project-based post ending on project completion. Lump sum pay package (NPP) per Govt. Project Policy. Only shortlisted candidates interviewed. Age relaxation as per rules. Female candidates encouraged.
