Deputy Regional Director (BPS-18)

Job Overview

Allama Iqbal Open University seeks dynamic individuals for the positions of Deputy Regional Director (BPS-18) to be posted in its regional centers in Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan (one post for each province). The role involves overseeing the administrative and academic functions of the regional center, promoting AIOU programs, student support services, and ensuring efficient operations. Experience in distance/non-formal education institutions is preferred.

Qualifications

A 2nd Class Master's Degree or equivalent from a HEC recognized University.

Experience

A minimum of 05 years' experience in BPS-17 and equivalent or above in a relevant field. This experience should be in a Government / Semi-Government / Autonomous Body of repute. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in any distance / non-formal institution.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for this position is 35 years. A general age relaxation of 5 years is applicable as per government rules, effectively making the upper age limit 40 years.

Posting Locations

There are three posts available: one for Punjab, one for Sindh, and one for Balochistan. Candidates selected against their respective provincial quota can be posted to any AIOU Regional Center in that province.

Application Process and General Instructions

1. Online Application: Applicants are required to apply online through the AIOU Job Portal at www.aiou.edu.pk. No hard copy of the application is acceptable for initial submission.
2. Processing Fee: A processing fee of Rs. 1500/- is applicable for this BPS-18 position. Candidates must download the Challan Form from the AIOU Job Portal and deposit the fee in the designated bank. The original paid Fee Challan must be presented at the time of the test/interview.
3. Document Verification: At the time of the written test/interview, candidates will be required to bring their original certificates and the original fee challan for verification.
4. For In-Service Candidates: Applicants currently working on a regular/acting charge/officiating/Ad-hoc/current charge, and/or contract basis in Government/Semi-Government and Autonomous Bodies (including employees of AIOU) must apply through the proper channel. They need to obtain an NOC (No Objection Certificate) and service certificate(s) issued by their respective Controlling Authority by the due date. Applications without these documents will be considered incomplete and liable to be rejected.
5. Accuracy of Information: Information claimed in the online application form will be treated as final. Subsequent claims of experience or any other information not provided in the online application form will be considered an afterthought and will not be accepted.
6. Contact Information: Candidates are required to provide a valid/non-MNP cell number (for SMS alerts) and a complete postal address for TCS/courier delivery. AIOU shall not be responsible for any delay or non-receipt of SMS/courier.
7. Last Date for Application: The deadline for submission of online applications is 16-06-2025.
8. Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility of candidates will be determined as per AIOU services statutes 1978 (as amended up to April 2022), relevant applicable rules of the Government, and the terms and conditions of this advertisement. Shortlisting and scrutiny will be strictly based on the AIOU Recruitment Rules 2022, available on the AIOU website.
