Vice Chancellor (University of Mianwali)

Role Description

The Vice Chancellor serves as the principal executive and academic officer of the University of Mianwali. The role involves promoting teaching, research, and publications while ensuring excellent administration and efficiency within the University. This is a key leadership position within the Punjab public sector higher education system.

Essential Requirements

The applicant should:

• Not be more than sixty-five (65) years of age on the last date fixed for the submission of applications.
• Have earned a PhD degree from an HEC recognized or UNESCO listed institution.
• Have experience in a senior academic, research, or management leadership position.
• Possess a distinguished research and publications record.
• Submit NOC from the current employer before the interview.

Terms of Appointment & Salary

The Vice Chancellor shall be appointed for a term of four years and serve at the pleasure of the Chancellor. The incumbent will be entitled for the maximum salary of a Professor on Tenure Track System, as per approval of the Government.

Application Process

Interested professionals must apply using the prescribed pro-forma available at www.hed.punjab.gov.pk. The pro-forma must be accompanied by the following documents:

• Certified copies of CV / educational certificates / degrees / diplomas.
• Details of certified teaching and administrative experience in the form of an Experience Certificate duly issued by the concerned Registrar/ Admin Office/ HR Office. (Notifications of postings shall not be accepted).
• List of HEC recognized research publications. Certified copies of the first page and index of recognized journals.
• Detailed Curriculum Vitae clearly highlighting all elements of eligibility criteria & personal attributes. It should start with the title of the SSC/ O Level, Grades, the name of the Institute/ College and the University.
• Three recent passport size photographs.

The complete application package (prescribed proforma, supporting documents, Resume) should be addressed to the Secretary Higher Education Department / Secretary of the Search Committee, Higher Education Department, Old DPI Building New Anarkali, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.

Important: Seven (7) extra copies of the filled-in prescribed pro-forma ONLY must also accompany the main application.

Deadline: The application, complete in all respects and supported with all documents, must reach the Higher Education Department no later than 9th May 2025 before closing of the office hours. Incomplete applications will not be entertained.

Interview: All shortlisted applicants shall have to appear for interview in person. No interview will be allowed through video links i.e. Skype/ WhatsApp etc., except for those candidates who are currently employed abroad.
*Each eligible candidate (for one or more posts of Vice Chancellor) shall be interviewed only once by the respective Search Committee to determine his/ her suitability against each university.
