Role Overview

The Vice Chancellor shall serve as the principal executive and academic officer of Kohsar University, Murree. The core responsibilities include promoting excellence in teaching, research, and publications, alongside ensuring efficient administration and overall functioning of the University.

Essential Requirements

Candidates interested in the Vice Chancellor position must meet the following criteria:

• Age: Not be more than sixty-five (65) years of age on the last date fixed for the submission of applications.
• Education: Have earned a PhD degree from an HEC recognized or UNESCO listed Institution.
• Experience: Possess experience in a senior academic, research, or management leadership position.
• Research: Have a distinguished research and publications record.
• NOC: Submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer before the interview, if applicable.

Terms of Appointment & Salary

The appointment for the Vice Chancellor position will be for a term of four years, serving at the pleasure of the Chancellor. The incumbent will be entitled to a maximum salary equivalent to that of a Professor on the Tenure Track System, subject to the approval of the Government.

Application Process

Interested professionals are required to apply using the prescribed pro-forma available at www.hed.punjab.gov.pk. The application package must include the following documents:

• Certified copies of CV, educational certificates, degrees, and diplomas.
• Details of certified teaching and administrative experience in the form of an Experience Certificate duly issued by the concerned Registrar/Admin Office/HR Office. (Notifications of postings will not be accepted).
• List of HEC recognized research publications. Certified copies of the first page and index of recognized journals.
• Detailed Curriculum Vitae clearly highlighting all elements of eligibility criteria and personal attributes. It should start with the title of the SSC/O Level, Grades, the name of the Institute/College, and the University.
• Three recent passport-size photographs.

The completed application, along with supporting documents and Resume, should be addressed to the Secretary Higher Education Department/Secretary of the Search Committee, Higher Education Department, Old DPI Building, New Anarkali, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.
Seven extra copies of the filled-in prescribed pro-forma only must also accompany the main application.
The application, complete in all respects and supported with all documents, must reach the Higher Education Department not later than 9th May 2025 before the closing of office hours. Incomplete applications will not be entertained.

Interview Process

All shortlisted applicants must appear for the interview in person. No interviews will be conducted through video links (e.g., Skype, WhatsApp) except for those candidates who are currently employed abroad.
Each eligible candidate (applying for one or more posts of Vice Chancellor) shall be interviewed only once by the respective Search Committee to determine their suitability against each university.
