Organization Overview

The Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO), Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, invites applications from competent professionals from all over Pakistan for appointment against the vacant position of Project Director.

Project Details

The position is for the '300 MW Balakot Hydropower Project' located in District Balakot. The appointment will be on a Project basis under PEDO.

Position Summary

As Project Director (equivalent to BPS-20), you will be responsible for the execution and implementation of the Project in accordance with the contractual obligations and the Scope of PC-I. This senior role requires strong leadership and project management skills, particularly within the hydropower sector.

Required Qualifications

• At least a 2nd Class Bachelor's Degree (16 Year's Education) in Engineering (Civil / Electrical / Mechanical) from an HEC recognized University/registered institution.
• Must possess valid registration with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).

Required Experience

• A minimum of fifteen (15) years' post-qualification professional experience in Engineering/Project Management and Implementation.
• Out of the total experience, at least three (03) years must be relevant Senior Management Experience (equivalent to BPS-19 or higher) specifically in Hydropower Projects.
• Preference will be given to candidates having direct experience in Hydropower projects.

Key Responsibilities & Skills

• Overall responsibility for project execution and implementation as per contracts and PC-I scope.
• Fulfil other responsibilities as per Job Descriptions (JDs).
• Possess basic knowledge and skills of Project Management fundamentals, particularly Government of Pakistan Project Planning and Management Processes and Procedures.
• Excellent English writing and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in drafting Project documentation.
• Proficiency with commonly used office software such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Compensation and Terms

• Market-based salary and remuneration package.
• The age limit is 55 years at the closing date of the advertisement. Five years of age relaxation may be given as per Regulation 10(Sr#2) of PEDO Employees (Terms and Conditions of Service) Regulations, 2024.
• Domicile: Open to candidates from all over Pakistan.
• Appointment is on a Contract/Project basis, initially for three (03) years, extendable till project completion subject to satisfactory performance (evaluated yearly).
• The post is project-specific and will automatically cease upon project completion.
