Job Overview: Deputy Director (Infrastructure)

NADRA invites applications for the position of Deputy Director (Infrastructure). The position is offered on an initial contract basis for a period of 5 years, which may be extended based on performance and the organization's requirements. Professional Experience and Skills Required

Candidates applying for the Deputy Director (Infrastructure) position must have a minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience. This experience should primarily be in areas such as system storage, virtualization, backup recovery, Linux, and Unix environments. Proven expertise in virtualization technologies, including the deployment, administration, and optimization of VMware, vSphere, and KVM-based environments, is essential. Any professional certification in Linux and/or Virtualization will be considered a significant advantage.

Key skills and competencies include the ability to design, plan, and implement scalable and secure IT infrastructure architecture. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure is optimized for performance, preparing comprehensive documentation of infrastructure design, configurations, and operational guidelines. Furthermore, they will implement robust security measures to protect NADRA’s data and infrastructure from cyber threats and oversee all backup and recovery operations, including data integrity checks and restoration testing. Excellent technical knowledge of CIFS, NFS, Object Storages, S3, Linux, Unix, bash scripting automation tools (like Ansible/Chef), Windows, Webservers, DNS servers, and various virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Openshift, CI/CD, Kubernetes), along with Backup & Restore software, is highly valued.

Educational Background

To be eligible for this role, applicants must possess a Bachelor's (4 Years) degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecom, or an equivalent qualification (16 Years of HEC Verified Education). A Master's degree in a related field will be given preference. It is mandatory for all degrees to be attested by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) or other relevant regulatory bodies at the time of the interview. The rigorous educational requirements ensure that NADRA selects candidates with a strong foundational understanding of complex IT systems.
