Job Overview

Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), a public sector utility company under the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), is inviting applications for the key leadership position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). PESCO is looking for exceptional and dynamic professionals capable of managing and leading the company's operations effectively. The ideal candidate will be fully conversant with the corporate environment, result-oriented, and possess a well-established reputation for integrity and credibility.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Education: Minimum 16 years of education in Engineering / Business Administration / Public Administration / Management Sciences / Finance / Commerce / Economics or be a member of a recognized body of professional accountants.
2. Experience:

• Minimum 20 years of verifiable experience.
• At least three (03) years of Senior Management Experience. This means:
• For Public Sector applicants: Experience working in BS-20 or equivalent (substantive, additional charge, acting charge, look-after basis, or upgraded).
• For Private Sector applicants: Experience at the C-level.

3. Skills and Attributes:

• Strong leadership, team building, and inter-personal communication skills.
• Full conversance with the power distribution business, its regulatory regime, and challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to lead the company towards persistent growth and value creation.
• Awareness of international best practices in governance, change management, and corporate restructuring.
• Strategic thinking and a proven record of delivering results in challenging environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Compliance with the Fit and Proper Criteria as per Section 16 and Schedule IV of the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act, 2023, and the State-owned (Ownership & Management) Policy, 2023.

4. Advantage: Previous experience at a senior position within a power distribution company will be considered an advantage.
5. Age Limit: Upper age limit is 62 years as of the closing date of the advertisement (May 05, 2025).

Pay Package

PESCO offers an excellent market-based competitive remuneration package, commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

Tenure and Nature of Employment

The employment will be purely on a contract basis for an initial period of three (03) years, extendable subject to performance.

• A declaration on non-judicial stamp paper (template available on www.pesco.com.pk) duly attested by an Oath Commissioner, affirming compliance with Fit and Proper Criteria under the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance & Operations) Act, 2023, and SOEs (C-Level Appointments) Guidelines, 2024, and confirming no present or perceived conflict of interest.

Candidates currently working in Government / Semi-Government / Autonomous Public Organizations should apply through the proper channel, providing an NOC from their current employer.
The successful candidate will be required to resign from their current employment and provide a relieving letter before joining PESCO.
