Job Overview

As 'The Nation's Bank', National Bank of Pakistan is looking for a talented, dedicated, and experienced professional to join its Risk Management (Retail & Program Lending) team as the Wing Head – Collections & Recovery (VP / SVP). Based in Karachi, the successful candidate will report to the Chief Credit Officer – Retail and Program Lending. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the bank's collections and recovery strategies to support sustainable growth and minimize credit losses. The employment is on a contractual basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal.

Key Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities for this position include:

• Working closely with collections and legal teams to ensure smooth and compliant recovery processes.
• Maintaining effective communication with collections and recovery teams regarding debt collections and recovery proceedings.
• Maximizing the profitability of the business by minimizing Non-Performing Loans (NPLs).
• Minimizing delinquency and credit losses as per assigned targets.
• Managing the write-off portfolio to ensure maximum recovery.
• Developing and managing MIS for collection monitoring, productivity, and recovery analysis.
• Setting collection and recovery targets for both in-house and outsourced resources.
• Coordinating with external agencies to ensure targets are met.
• Handling internal and external audits and ensuring timely closure of findings.
• Coordinating with IT and other stakeholders on issues related to the collection system.
• Ensuring all reference materials (collection manual, credit policies, SBP regulations) are readily available.
• Ensuring maximum loss prevention and maintaining strict control to reduce the delinquency ratio.
• Developing and delivering comprehensive training programs for all collection staff.
• Performing any other assignments as required by the supervisor(s).

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Educational Qualification: Minimum Graduation or equivalent from an HEC recognized local or international university/college. Candidates with a Master's degree and/or other relevant certifications will be preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of banking experience, with at least 05 years in credit collections covering Retail/Consumer and/or SME and/or Agri Financing. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in large-scale/public sector organizations.

• In-depth knowledge of collection systems, capacity planning, incentive plans, policies & forecasting
• Problem Solving & Decision Making with the ability to promote Innovation & Guide Change
• Knowledge of handling legal documents and litigations
• Sound knowledge of Consumer, Agriculture & SME SBP Prudential Regulations
• Proficiency with MS Office, data handling, and portfolio analysis
