This Credit Analyst position reports directly to the Unit Head - Credit Approvals. Candidates are required to hold a minimum Graduation degree, with a preference for specializations in Agriculture, Finance, or Economics, from a university or college recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). A Master's degree or an equivalent qualification in these disciplines, or a JAIBP/AIBP certification, will be highly preferred, providing a stronger foundation for the analytical demands of the role.Experience
A minimum of 04 years of banking experience is essential for this role, of which at least 02 years must be in a specialized capacity such as Relationship Manager, Credit Analyst, SME (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises), Commercial, or Corporate Lending. Prior experience in Agri Corporate lending will be given significant preference, demonstrating direct relevance to a key sector for the National Bank of Pakistan.Other Skills / Expertise / Knowledge Required
- Strong understanding of credit analysis principles, encompassing financial statement analysis, ratio analysis, and comprehensive risk assessment techniques.
- Familiarity with agriculture finance, including an in-depth understanding of the specific risks and dynamics inherent in the agriculture sector.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and the application of various financial analysis tools to derive actionable insights.
- Strong analytical thinking, with the capability to interpret complex financial data and formulate insightful conclusions.
- Adequate knowledge of applicable Prudential Regulations stipulated by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint, coupled with strong data analytical skills for report generation and presentation.
Outline of Main Duties / Responsibilities
- To thoroughly analyze financial statements, credit histories, and other pertinent data to accurately evaluate clients' creditworthiness and identify potential risks.
- To conduct in-depth analysis of clients' financial performance, including detailed ratio analysis, trend analysis, and cash flow projections, providing a holistic view of their financial health.
- To prepare comprehensive credit reports with well-supported recommendations for credit decisions, meticulously highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and potential risk factors.
- To identify and assess potential credit risks specifically associated with agriculture businesses, considering seasonal variations and market fluctuations.
- To review all loan applications to ensure strict compliance with the bank's credit policy standards and verify that all required documentation is complete.
- To collaborate effectively with senior credit officers, providing necessary data and analysis to support the approval process and aid in informed decision-making.
- To ensure strict adherence to internal credit policies, banking regulations, and risk management guidelines throughout all credit evaluation processes.
- To maintain organized and auditable records of all credit analysis, reviews, and approvals for compliance and internal/external audit purposes.
- To prepare periodic reports detailing credit portfolio health, trends, and risk exposures for management review, enabling proactive risk mitigation strategies.
- To perform any other assignment as assigned by the Supervisor(s) efficiently and effectively.
