Introduction to WAPDA Internship Programme
The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is delighted to announce a comprehensive Paid Internship Programme designed for aspiring fresh and recent graduates across Pakistan. This initiative aims to provide a unique, hands-on learning experience, allowing participants to gain invaluable professional exposure within a dynamic and highly reputable government organization. The WAPDA Internship Programme offers opportunities in a diverse range of fields, catering to various academic backgrounds relevant to WAPDA's operations. A total of 50 internships are available, meticulously distributed across the following disciplines:- Electrical/Electronic & Mechanical Engineering: 16 Seats
- Civil Engineering: 14 Seats
- Geological Engineering: 05 Seats
- Computer Sciences / Information Technology: 03 Seats
- Finance & Accounting: 05 Seats
- Human Resource Management: 05 Seats
- Mass Communications: 02 Seats
The seat allocation further specifies 20 seats for Open Quota (40%) and 30 seats for Provincial Quota (60%), ensuring broad representation from across Pakistan:
- Punjab: 6 Seats
- Sindh: 6 Seats
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 6 Seats
- Gilgit Baltistan: 3 Seats
- Balochistan: 3 Seats
- Azad Kashmir: 3 Seats
- Ex FATA: 3 Seats
Eligibility Criteria and Duration
Candidates interested in applying for the WAPDA Internship Programme must meet specific criteria to ensure suitability for the challenging yet rewarding experience. Applicants must be fresh or recent graduates, having completed their degrees within a maximum of three years prior to the application date. The maximum age limit for applicants is 26 years, and a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.8 is required for all disciplines. It is important to note that applications are strictly open for graduates only, and candidates must be from HEC Recognized Universities / Concerned Boards. The internship itself is structured for a duration of 8 weeks, equivalent to 2 months, providing ample time for learning and practical application. Both male and female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment.Required Documents
To ensure a complete and valid application, candidates are required to meticulously prepare and submit the following documents:- All Academic / Educational Documents (attested copies of transcripts and degrees).
- CNIC Copy (attested copy of the National Identity Card).
- Domicile Copy (attested copy of the domicile certificate).
- An Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) highlighting academic achievements and any relevant experiences.
- Two recent passport-size photographs.
- Police Verification Form (this is mandatory specifically for applicants from engineering disciplines).
Please note that original documents must be presented at the time of the interview for verification purposes.
General Conditions and Important Notes
Prospective interns should be aware of the following general conditions and important points regarding the WAPDA Internship Programme:- A monthly stipend of Rs. 20,000 will be provided to all successful interns to assist with living expenses during the programme.
- It is crucial to understand that successful completion of the internship programme does NOT guarantee permanent employment with WAPDA.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and called for an interview, ensuring a focused selection process.
- No Travel Allowance (TA) or Daily Allowance (DA) will be admissible to candidates for attending interviews.
- Applicants must possess a working bank account registered in their own name.
- WAPDA reserves the absolute right to withhold, cancel, or modify the application or the entire recruitment process at any stage without providing any specific reason.
- Applications containing incomplete or incorrect information, or those received after the specified last date, will be summarily rejected without further consideration.
