Vice Chancellor

Position Overview

The Search Committee for the appointment of Vice Chancellor, duly constituted by the President, Islamic Republic of Pakistan/Chancellor and the Senate of the NFC-IET Multan, invites applications from accomplished and strongly motivated academic leaders. The successful candidate will be responsible for further developing and improving the management of the NFC Institute of Engineering & Technology Multan, an important resource for intellectual growth and higher learning. This is a key leadership role at a federally chartered degree-awarding institute.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
a) Not be more than 65 years of age on the last date fixed for submission of applications.
b) Have earned a Ph.D. Degree (Preferably in Engineering/IT) from an HEC recognized or UNESCO listed Institution.
c) Have extensive experience in Senior Academics, Research and Management/Administrative leadership roles, preferably in Higher Education Institutions.
d) Must Possess a distinguished record of Research and Scholarly Publications in HEC Recognized Journals.

Qualification and Experience (Core Competencies)

Applicants will be assessed on their academic credentials, leadership qualities, and demonstrated ability to strategically lead a technology-driven higher education institution. The evaluation will be based on the following core competencies:

• A strong academic track record with significant contributions to teaching, research, and curriculum development in engineering, technology, or applied sciences.
• Proven experience in senior academic and administrative roles, demonstrating management experience in institutional development, academic planning, regulatory compliances, and understanding of university operations.
• Substantial evidence of leading meaningful and impactful research, preferably aligned with national socio-economic goals and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among faculty and students.
• Ability to build and sustain collaborations with national and international industry partners, R&D organizations, and professional bodies to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
• Experience in institutional planning, financial management, securing external funding, and optimizing academic and infrastructural resources.
• A forward-looking approach to transform NFC-IET into a center of excellence in engineering and technology education, responsive to emerging challenges in automation, digital transformation, sustainability, and economic impact.

Terms of Appointment

The Vice Chancellor shall be appointed by the Chancellor for a period of 4 years as provided under law and will be entitled to draw “Vice Chancellor Salary Package” as approved by the Chancellor.
