About the Role

National Bank of Pakistan is looking for a dedicated and experienced professional for the position of Unit Head - CBA Technology (AVP / VP) in Karachi. The individual will report directly to the Wing Head - CBA Technology. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in IT, database technologies, and core banking systems who want to play a key role in transforming the institution into a future-fit, agile, and sustainable bank.

Key Responsibilities

To ensure projects, problems, service requests, and escalations are dealt with according to a defined set of policies, processes, procedures, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
To manage and prioritize the design and maintenance of Core Banking System and other integrated systems / applications.
To provide support and guidance on Core Banking Application Security and Governance, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of Core Banking Technology Applications.
To develop, implement and execute detailed Disaster Recovery (DR) plans and procedures for Core Banking and other integrated critical business applications.
To analyze and review the design and planning of application projects in accordance with the Bank's requirements.
To effectively communicate with and manage expectations of internal and external customers and other stakeholders influencing performance outcomes.
To monitor, manage and resolve service user complaints to maintain the highest standards of service quality.
To effectively lead and oversee application architectural design, ensuring that all solutions developed and deployed align with Enterprise Architecture standards.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Minimum Bachelor's degree in IT / Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent and / or Graduation with a Master's degree in IT / Computer Science or equivalent from a local or international university / college / institute recognized by the HEC of Pakistan. Relevant certifications will be preferred.
Experience: Minimum 06 years of experience in the field of IT, out of which 03 years of hands on experience in maintenance and / or configuration and / or deployment of Core Banking Systems and Allied Solutions. Experience with FIS PROFILE Core Banking System will be preferred.
Skills Required: Expertise in Database Technologies (Oracle, DBSQL, SQL Server, NoSQL), hands-on experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems, strong knowledge of VMware technology, version control tools (SVN/GitLab), WebServer (Apache / WebSphere), and exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
