Al Shifa Trust Eye Hospital invites applications for the position of Staff Nurse in Rawalpindi. We are looking for dedicated and skilled nursing professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

Qualifications & Experience

  • General Nursing Diploma / Generic BSN.
  • Valid PNC (Pakistan Nursing Council) registration card.
  • 2-3 years of relevant nursing experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer medication safely and explain procedures to patients/families.
  • Ensure all reportable cases are communicated to the supervisor verbally and in writing.
  • Provide respectful care aligned with patient values and beliefs.
  • Respect cultural values and demonstrate professionalism in actions.
  • Participate in quality improvement and assurance activities.
  • Conduct complete nursing assessments for patients in designated areas.
  • Assess critical patients and those on stretchers/wheelchairs in waiting areas.
  • Assess the patient's environment for safety, cleanliness, and proper equipment functioning.
  • Ensure availability of linen, par levels, and equipment for the next shift.
  • Perform nursing skills and procedures efficiently and proficiently according to area requirements.
  • Maintain timely, comprehensive, and complete nursing documentation meeting quality standards.
  • Act always to promote and safeguard patient well-being and interests.
  • Ensure no action or omission is detrimental to patient condition and safety.
  • Observe and interpret patient symptoms and communicate findings to physicians.
  • Adjust and administer patient medication and treatments according to physician orders.
  • Inspect facilities and maintain excellent hygiene and safety standards (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds, etc.).
  • Provide instant medical care during emergencies.
  • Assist in wound dressing/stitch removal as required.
  • Ensure custody of patient belongings according to hospital policy.
