Ophthalmic Technician

Job Overview

Al Shifa Trust Eye Hospital seeks skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Technicians to join their team in Rawalpindi. The technician will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists and providing supportive care to patients.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma of Ophthalmic Technician.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in an ophthalmic setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists with ophthalmic procedures and provides pre- and post-supportive care to patients.
• Ensure all equipment and electric items are switched off when not in use.
• Responsible for equipment disinfection and maintaining cleanliness after procedures.
• Communicate patient status effectively to the concerned doctor/supervisor.
• Ensure patient education and pre-diagnosis tasks are completed during the first OPD visit.
• Ensure patient comfort throughout procedures (e.g., pupil dilation).
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all equipment, with particular emphasis on disinfection of terminals.
• Maintain clear and easy-to-read documentation of treatment information, routine testing, etc., for each procedure.
• Ensure follow-up appointments are scheduled and facilitate patients accordingly.
