ZARAI TARAQIATI BANK LIMITED (ZTBL), a 'AAA' rated specialized financial institution, is offering a significant opportunity for a Shariah Scholar/Product & Policy Management (AVP-I/AVP). This role is based at the ZTBL Head Office in Islamabad, Pakistan, and is crucial for maintaining the Shariah authenticity and compliance of the Bank’s Islamic products and policies. We are seeking an energetic and challenge-oriented professional with a strong academic background and practical experience in Islamic jurisprudence.

Key Responsibilities

The Shariah Scholar/Product & Policy Management will be central to ensuring all products and policies adhere strictly to Shariah principles. Key responsibilities for this Shariah Scholar job include:

• Ensuring compliance with Shariah jurisprudence in all Product, Policies, Procedures, and Manuals of Islamic Banking.
• Reviewing all products, policies, procedures, and manuals from Shariah-compliance perspectives.
• Conducting research and development from Shariah-compliance perspectives. Preparing and submitting critical analysis of all products from Shariah-compliance perspectives.
• Liaising with the Shariah Board regarding approvals of all products, procedures, and manuals.
• Coordinating with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and other departments for clearance of Shariah-compliant products, procedures, and manuals.
• Undertaking any other concerning assignment in the context of regulatory and bank requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants for the Shariah Scholar/Product & Policy Management position must possess overall eight (8) years of experience. This experience should be either in Teaching, Research & Development in the field of Islamic Banking and Finance or Fiqh ul Muama’alat. Preference will be given to candidates holding a certificate in Takhassus fil Fiqh/Takhassus fil Ifta. A strong understanding of Fiqh ul Muama’alat and Shariah jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh), along with Fiqh methodologies for deriving juristic opinion, is essential.
Educational qualifications include:

• Shahadat ul Aalamiyyah Degree (Dars e Nizami) from any recognized Board of Madaris with a minimum of 70% marks and a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2nd Class.
• OR
• A Post Graduate Degree in Kuliyyatush Shari’ah or Kuliyyah Usooluddin, L.L.M. (Shari’ah) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent from any recognized University.

Eligibility Criteria

For the Shariah Scholar/Product & Policy Management (AVP-I/AVP) role, the maximum age limit for applicants is 45 years as of the application closing date, 07-September-2025.
