Job Overview
The Senior Researcher will be responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing comprehensive studies and reports on competition-related matters. The candidate will provide advice on economic and policy research to support the Commission's objectives. The role also involves managing and mentoring a team of research analysts, providing guidance on methodology, data collection, and interpretation. Expertise in advanced research, analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities for this post entail:- Design, conduct and analyze comprehensive studies and reports on competition-related matters.
- Provide advice on economic and policy research to support the Commission's objectives.
- Ability to analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics across various sectors.
- Analyze data on both micro and macroeconomic levels, providing insights for policy formulation.
- Collaborate with internal departments to provide data-driven research to support regulatory procedures and proceedings.
- Engage with external stakeholders such as government bodies, international organizations, and academic institutions to facilitate research collaboration.
- Oversee the preparation of academic research publications, policy briefs, and technical reports, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and clarity.
- Manage and mentor a team of research analysts, providing guidance on methodology, data collection, and interpretation.
- Assign research tasks to the research team based on the needs and requests from various departments of the Commission.
- Any other task assigned by the Competent Authority.
Eligibility Criteria
The ideal candidate shall possess a Ms/MPhil degree, preferably a Ph.D. in Economics, Econometrics, Law, or Business-related discipline from an HEC recognized local or foreign University, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in research. He/She must have the ability to carry out independent research. The candidate should also showcase expertise in advanced research in academic qualifications. The candidate should demonstrate leadership skills in managing and guiding research teams. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration. The candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks in Pakistan. The age limit for this position is 35-45 years. A general age relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit would be granted as admissible under the rules.How to Apply
