Role and Responsibilities of the Public Consultation Officer

The Public Consultation Officer is responsible for managing stakeholder engagement and public consultation processes throughout the BRT Red Line project. This role ensures that the concerns and needs of the affected communities and other stakeholders are considered in decision-making and project design. Key responsibilities include organizing and facilitating public meetings, workshops, and consultations, documenting feedback, and ensuring that community input is integrated into project plans. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to inclusive development, playing a crucial role in building trust and fostering collaboration between the project and the public.

Qualifications and Experience

The candidate must possess a Postgraduate or equivalent qualification in Conflict Management, Urban Development, or Law. In terms of experience, the candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, public consultation, and community outreach in infrastructure or public sector projects. Experience of working with vulnerable communities and civil society organizations, and with Asian Development Bank (ADB) or multi-lateral development bank and government entities, is highly desirable. This background will enable the officer to effectively navigate complex social dynamics and ensure equitable project outcomes.
