NMT Infrastructure Officer

Role Overview

Trans Karachi is seeking an NMT (Non-Motorized Transport) Infrastructure Officer for the Karachi BRT Red Line Project. This officer will be responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of NMT infrastructure, promoting safe and accessible pedestrian and cycling facilities integrated with the BRT system. This role is crucial for enhancing sustainable urban mobility.

Key Responsibilities

The NMT Infrastructure Officer will be responsible for:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining NMT infrastructure such as pedestrian paths, cycling lanes, and bus stops.
• Ensuring NMT facilities are integrated with the BRT system.
• Planning and completing NMT infrastructure within the BRT system context.
• Utilizing relevant design software and adhering to established standards.
• Coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Promoting universal accessibility in NMT design.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, or a related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the design, implementation, and maintenance of NMT infrastructure (e.g., pedestrian paths, cycling lanes, bus stops). Experience in planning and completing NMT infrastructure in the context of a BRT system is required. Knowledge of relevant design software and standards.
