Professor of Oncology (BS-20)

Position Overview

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) is recruiting on behalf of the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department for the role of Professor of Oncology (BS-20). This is a permanent position offered on an open merit basis. The successful candidate will be posted in various medical universities, colleges, or hospitals in Punjab and will be a key figure in the field of oncology education and clinical practice.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet the stringent criteria set by the PPSC, which includes:

• Primary Qualification: MBBS or an equivalent medical qualification from an institution recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC)/Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).
• Postgraduate Qualification: FCPS/MS or FRCS/MRCP or MD or Diplomate of American Board in Oncology, or an equivalent specialty qualification.
• Alternative Qualification: In the absence of candidates with the above, individuals with MBBS and a postgraduate qualification in General Surgery or Medicine (FCPS/MS/FRCS/MRCP/MD/Diplomate of American Board) along with three years of post-graduation practical experience in the specialty will be considered.
• Experience: A minimum of 08 years of teaching experience as an Associate Professor/Assistant Professor OR 09 years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in the specialty in a recognized institution.
• Research: At least 05 research papers published in a standard medical journal while working as an Assistant/Associate Professor. Only original articles are admissible.
• Age Limit: Male: 35 to 55 years; Female: 35 to 58 years (including age relaxation).

3. After submitting the online application, candidates must submit a hard copy of the application form along with two photocopy sets of all relevant documents and research papers within 07 working days after the closing date.
4. The closing date for online applications is 16 June 2025.
