Organizational Overview

The Planning Commission of Pakistan is entrusted with the task of overall development, planning and policymaking of the country. The Commission seeks to revitalize itself as a premier development think tank and policy advisor to the government backed by excellence in research and evidence based planning. Applications are invited for the position of Member, Infrastructure and Regional Connectivity, Planning Commission.

Qualifications, Eligibility and Shortlisting Criteria

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
  • PhD: PhD in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Agricultural/Engineering Management) from a reputed HEC recognized National/International University with fourteen (14) years' post B.E professional experience of developing and delivering Mega Infrastructural Projects at National/International/Regional level including 5 years of managerial experience at policy making level.
  • OR Masters: Masters in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Agricultural/Engineering Management) from a reputed HEC recognized National/International University with eighteen (18) years' post B.E professional experience of developing and delivering Mega Infrastructural Projects at National/International/Regional level including 7 years of managerial experience at policy making level.
  • OR B.E: B.E (Civil/Mechanical/Agricultural/Engineering Management) from a reputed HEC recognized National/International University with twenty (20) years' post B.E professional experience of developing and delivering Mega Infrastructural Projects at National/International/Regional level including 9 years of managerial experience at policy making level.

Terms of Reference (TORs) / Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Promote / Coordinate economic & infrastructure initiatives towards developing regional economic integration, CPEC PMO.
  • Sustainable Urban Planning and Development.
  • Prepare short, medium, long-term plans for sectors, including roads and highways, railway, civil aviation and tourism, post and telecommunication, water distribution, local and municipal infrastructure development, works and housing.
  • Evaluation and approval of different development projects.
  • Preparation of implementation plan for annual development projects & five year plans.
  • Undertaking of research studies on issues related to development of physical infrastructure.
  • Preparation of projects based on implementation-oriented approach for greater cooperation and connectivity among Regional States to benefit from the vast potential of trade and compete in the region.
  • Coordinate with development partners and assist them in preparation of Pakistan's specific country strategy in the area of infrastructure sectors.
  • Participate in CDWP and ECNEC meetings and facilitate forums in approval process of Infrastructure sectors development projects/programmes as sector expert.
  • Any other assignment assigned by the Prime Minister, Minister Planning, DCPC, and Secretary PD&SI.

Age Limit, Tenure and Pay Package

Maximum Age Limit: On last date of application 62 years.
Tenure: Initially for a period of two (02) years, further extendable on annual (yearly) basis upto a maximum of four (04) years subject to satisfactory performance.
Pay Package: SPPS-I Scale.
