Role Overview

The Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives is looking for a top-tier professional to lead the Strategic Planning and Policy Unit within the National Economic Transformation & 5 Es Unit. Based in Islamabad, this position (Project Scale: PPS-11) demands strategic thinking and leadership to guide national development planning. The role focuses on identifying emerging opportunities, addressing long-term challenges, and ensuring alignment with national priorities and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Strategic Planning and Policy Unit will be expected to lead the design and development of strategic national development plans. This involves conducting situational analyses, identifying gaps, developing strategic responses, and collaborating closely with government entities, the private sector, civil society, academia, and think tanks. The incumbent will oversee crucial research, data analysis, and the formulation of evidence-based policy recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience

Option 1: PhD (Economics/ Public Policy) from a reputed HEC recognized National / International University with ten (10) years' professional experience, including 3 years' experience at policy-making level in the field of Economic/ Planning/ Development.
OR
Option 2: Masters (Economics/ Public Policy) from a reputed HEC recognized National / International University with fourteen (14) years' professional experience, including 3 years' experience at policy-making level in the field of economic/ development.
Age Limit: Maximum 62 years on the closing date of application.
Contract Duration: 03 years (extendable based on satisfactory performance).
