Fellowship Overview

An open call is announced for the merit-based Mehjabeen Fellowship, a women's fieldwork grant dedicated to conducting primary research. This fellowship aims to deepen knowledge in two key areas: Human-Ecology and Music Heritage in Pakistan. The Zaman Foundation will administer this fellowship in association with the family of the late Dr. Syeda Mehjabeen Abidi Habib, to commemorate her support to women in the field of human-ecology.

Research Areas

The fellowship focuses on primary research in the following fields:
1) HUMAN-ECOLOGY: Research exploring human connectedness with a priority ecosystem in Pakistan.
2) MUSIC HERITAGE IN PAKISTAN: Research on indigenous musical communities and practice in Pakistan.

Grant Details

• Up to Rs 300,000 per scholar.
• Up to 5 awardees each year.
