Manager Innovation and Commercialization (I&C)

Position Summary

The National University of Modern Languages (NUML), located in Islamabad, is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Manager Innovation and Commercialization (I&C) for its Main Campus. This is a contract-based role designed to drive and manage the university's innovation and commercialization initiatives. The Manager I&C will be instrumental in transforming research findings and innovative ideas into tangible societal and economic benefits.

Core Responsibilities

The key duties and responsibilities for this position include:

• Overseeing the process to disclose Intellectual Property (IP) generated by faculty and staff members.
• Preparing comprehensive policy briefs related to innovation, IP, and commercialization strategies.
• Initiating, conducting, and managing negotiations for Intellectual Property licensing agreements.
• Executing and signing non-exclusive or exclusive license agreements for university-owned IP.
• Actively working to generate revenue streams for the university through licensing, royalties, policy advocacy, and other related academic activities.
• Arranging and coordinating visits by representatives from industry or community members to discuss potential research subjects and collaborations.
• Organizing and managing events aimed at stimulating industry engagement, fostering entrepreneurial spirit, or enhancing community awareness regarding university innovations.
• Managing and formalizing agreements for collaboration with various industry partners.

Required Qualifications and Experience

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Master's Degree from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant professional experience in areas such as intellectual property management, technology transfer, licensing, industry liaison, or commercialization of research.

6. The decision of the University shall remain final in all matters related to the selection process. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and called for a test/interview.
7. No TA/DA (Travel Allowance/Daily Allowance) will be admissible for candidates appearing for the test/interview.
