Role Overview

The National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad, invites applications for the prestigious position of Director ORIC (Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization). This role is offered on a contract basis for the Main Campus in Islamabad. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader responsible for spearheading the university's research, innovation, and commercialization strategies and activities. This key position aims to significantly enhance NUML's research output and its practical impact on industry and society.

Key Responsibilities

The Director ORIC will be entrusted with several critical responsibilities, including:

• Managing and enhancing the overall research activities of the university by effectively mapping faculty research areas with relevant industry opportunities and needs.
• Cultivating and promoting an entrepreneurial mindset across the university, and actively driving the commercialization of innovative ideas, products, and services, with a particular focus on fields such as languages, social sciences, and computer sciences.
• Developing, nurturing, and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with donor agencies, government bodies, business and industry leaders, entrepreneurs, as well as national and international universities and social communities.
• Demonstrating proven leadership capabilities in managing and fostering the growth of non-profit organizations, which includes the crucial task of developing and implementing comprehensive research policies and strategic priorities for the university.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications and experience criteria:

• A PhD degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Management Sciences, or Computer Science from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 15 years of extensive professional experience, with a strong background in working with academia, International Donor Agencies, Research Institutes, and Think-tanks.

5. Please note that incomplete applications, or applications submitted by hand, email, or those received after the specified due date, will not be entertained or considered.
6. The decision of the University shall remain final in all matters related to the selection process. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and called for a test/interview.
7. No TA/DA (Travel Allowance/Daily Allowance) will be admissible for candidates appearing for the test/interview.
