Position Overview

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), D.G. Khan, invites applications from highly skilled and dynamic legal professionals for the part-time position of Legal Advisor. This role requires individuals with a domicile of Punjab, Pakistan, to provide comprehensive legal advice and represent the Board in various legal and tax matters. The appointed Legal Advisor will be instrumental in handling legal proceedings and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This is a crucial opportunity for a dedicated Legal Advisor in D.G. Khan to join a government educational board.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities for this Legal Advisor role include appearing in courts of law on behalf of BISE, D.G. Khan, handling all types of legal proceedings, and addressing matters related to taxation. The Legal Advisor will also be expected to provide legal advice and assistance as needed, ensuring the smooth functioning of legal aspects within the Board's operations. The role demands active participation in legal and tax discussions, offering expert guidance and strategic insights to protect the Board's interests effectively.

Qualification and Experience

Candidates must possess the status of an advocate of a High Court and have been actively practicing for a minimum period of five years immediately prior to the application deadline. Experience as an Income Tax practitioner is also a mandatory requirement. Further merit criteria for this Legal Advisor position include:

• One-stage higher qualification (LL.M): 05 Marks
• Enrolled as Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan: 05 Marks
• Practicing experience of High Court above five (5) years: 05 Max. (1 mark per year)
• Practicing experience of Autonomous Bodies: 10 Max. (1 mark per year)
• Reported Judgments: 10 Max. (1 mark per year)

A total of 35 marks are allocated for these qualifications and experiences. Preference will be given to aspirants who possess relevant experience of BISEs within the Punjab region, making this a highly competitive role for experienced legal professionals.

Terms and Conditions

The Legal Advisor will be appointed on a part-time basis, governed by instructions from the Government of Punjab, Law & Parliamentary Affairs Department. The appointment is subject to final approval by the Government, and preference will be given to candidates with prior experience at BISEs. This position is purely on a temporary basis, and remuneration will be offered, which may be less than the maximum remuneration for the post. The appointee will not claim regularization of services. The tenure is two years, extendable based on satisfactory performance, but liable to be revoked with one month's notice from either side. The Legal Advisor must always protect the Board's interests and must not appear in any court of law in a matter detrimental to the interest of BISE, D.G. Khan. Furthermore, no office, staff, law books, vehicle, or telephone facility will be provided by the Board for this position.

Remuneration Package

The compensation package for the Legal Advisor includes a retainership of Rs.40,000/- per month as a lump sum. In addition to this, contingencies will be provided for legal work:

• For Lower Court cases, including contingent charges for Civil Courts at DGKhan, a fee of Rs.13,000/- per case will be paid.
• For High Court cases, a fee of Rs.15,000/- per case will be provided.

Travel Allowance (TA) and Daily Allowance (DA) will be admissible at a rate equal to BPS-18, if required for official duties and with prior approval from the Chairman. This structured remuneration ensures fair compensation for the specialized legal services provided.
