Job Overview

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Multan, is seeking a qualified Legal Advisor to join their team on a part-time basis. The selected candidate will be responsible for appearing in courts of law on behalf of the Board, offering legal counsel on legal and tax matters, and ensuring the Board's interests are protected in all legal proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Multan in courts of law.
• Provide legal advice on legal and tax matters.
• Protect the interest of the Board in all legal proceedings.

Qualification and Experience

• An advocate of High Court and having active practice as an advocate for a period of not less than five years immediately before the last date fixed for receipt of applications.
• Five years experience as income tax practitioners.

Merit Determination Criteria

• One stage higher (LLM): 05 Marks
• Enrolled as Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan: 05 Marks
• Practicing experience of High Court above 05 years: 05 Marks Max. (1 mark per year)
• Practicing Experience of Autonomous Bodies: 10 Marks Max. (1 mark per year)
• Reporting Judgments: 10 Marks Max. (1 mark per year)

Total Marks: 35

Terms and Conditions

• The Legal Advisor will be appointed on a part-time basis and governed by the instructions of the Govt. of Punjab, Law & Parliamentary Affairs Department.
• Expected Remuneration/Retainership: Rs.150,000/- per month lump sum (inclusive all taxes).
• Contingency: Lower Court: Rs.800/- per case except appeal cases, High Court: Rs.1,000/- per case except appeal Cases.
• Appeal cases in Civil and High court: 1-1/2 time of the approved contingency of concerned Court rate.
• Professional fee for the apex Court: Rs. 15,000/- per case for AOR.
• Contingent charges/miscellaneous: Rs.10,000/- per case Expenses including judicial tickets, oath commissioner & others for the preparation of case about 11 copies, in case of Apex Court.
• TA/DA will be admissible equal to BPS-18 (if needed).
• The selected Legal Advisor will be offered part time appointment (purely on temporary basis) at a remuneration which may be lesser than the maximum remuneration offered.
• Tenure will be of two (02) years, extendable on satisfactory performance. However, this appointment can be revoked any time by serving one month notice from either side.
• The Legal Advisor, so appointed shall be bound to protect the interest of BISE, Multan.
• The selected candidate will not be provided office, staff, law books, vehicles, telephone and other such facilities.
• Incomplete applications shall not be entertained.
