Dean ORIC

Role Summary

The Dean ORIC will provide strategic leadership to strengthen UMT's research, innovation, and commercialization ecosystem. The role will lead institutional research growth, industry engagement, technology transfer, and external funding while aligning ORIC operations with HEC requirements and UMT's strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead ORIC strategy, governance, and institutional coordination
• Strengthen research funding, grants management, and faculty support
• Build industry, government, and international research linkages
• Oversee innovation, intellectual property, and commercialization activities
• Promote incubation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer
• Monitor HEC ORIC scorecard performance, compliance, and reporting
• Develop capacity-building initiatives, workshops, and strategic partnerships
• Drive visibility, impact, and sustainability of research and innovation activities

Requirements & Core Competencies

Requirements:

• PhD from an HEC Recognized University
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in research management, ORIC operations, innovation, commercialization, or higher education leadership
• Strong track record in research grants, industry collaboration, and institutional leadership
• Sound understanding of HEC ORIC policy, KPIs, and research governance frameworks
