Associate Professor

Job Overview

The Associate Professor will be involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, conducting research, and providing clinical services, while adhering to the guidelines set by the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) and the AJK Service Rules. The ideal candidate should be committed to academic excellence and contribute to the growth of the medical college.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:
• Conducting lectures, seminars, and practical sessions for medical students.
• Developing and updating curriculum.
• Supervising and mentoring junior faculty members and postgraduate trainees.
• Conducting research and publishing scientific articles.
• Participating in departmental and college committees.
• Providing clinical services as required.

Departments

• Contract Basis: Anatomy (1), Physiology (1), Biochemistry (1), Community Medicine (1), Pathology (Histopathology or Hematology) (1), ENT (1), Anesthesia (1)
• Department of Health (DoH): Orthopedic Surgery (1), Cardiology (1)

Pay Package

• Contract: PKR 3,25,000/M
• DOH: Teaching Allowance will be paid subject to budgetary provision

As per PMC Criteria/AJK Service Rules.

Note for Department of Health Candidates:
Those already working in teaching hospitals must apply through the proper channel with approval from the Secretary Health Govt. of AJK. Direct applications will not be entertained. Selected DoH employees will draw their salary against their respective posts. However, they may be entertained for teaching allowance as per budgetary provision/policy/approval of GoAJK.
