Assistant Supervisor - Lab Special Hematology

Job Summary

Supervises the technical and administrative activities of the assigned department of Clinical Laboratories on a daily basis through visual inspection to ensure smooth operation, according to Laboratory protocols.

Job Responsibilities

• Updates all departmental Manual/procedures/policies on yearly basis and/or as required in consultation with Department Head and Lab Manager.
• Presents departmental quality indicators in Quality Assurance Control Committee meetings (QACC).
• Supervises the technical and administrative activities of the assigned department of Clinical Laboratories on a daily basis to ensure smooth operations.
• Handles departmental administrative matters such as attendance, disciplines, and counseling through random checks to ensure that the laboratory and institutional policies are implemented regularly.
• Prepares department Manuals/Policies in consultation with the Department Head and Lab Manager.
• To assist the Department Head in achieving the Departmental KPIs

Knowledge and Competencies

• Thorough knowledge of laboratory testing procedures.
• Knowledge of latest developments in Medical Technology field.
• Good knowledge of employee-relations techniques.
• Administrative capabilities.

Requirements

Academic Qualifications: B.Sc., M.Sc. preferred.
Professional Qualifications: One year training in Medical Technology.
Working Experience: 1-2 years' experience as Senior Charge Technologist at Zia Uddin University Hospital. 8-10 years of relevant experience outside, including 3-4 years of compatible supervisory experience.
