Role Overview

Trans Karachi is seeking an Assistant Manager (AM) for Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) for the Karachi BRT Red Line Project. This role is dedicated to developing, implementing, and managing OHS systems to ensure a safe and healthy environment for employees, contractors, and the public during the construction and operation phases of the BRT system.

Key Responsibilities

The AM Occupational Health and Safety will be responsible for:

• Developing and implementing comprehensive OHS policies and procedures.
• Conducting risk assessments and safety audits.
• Ensuring compliance with national and international OHS standards.
• Managing incident investigations and reporting.
• Developing and delivering OHS training programs.
• Overseeing emergency response planning and preparedness.
• Monitoring OHS performance and implementing corrective actions.
• Working on health and safety systems in the public transport sector or related industries.
• Experience with IFC/ADB projects in OHS aspects.
• Managing hazard identification, prevention, accident investigation, emergency response, and safety training.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree from an HEC recognized university in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering/Science, or a related field. NEBOSH, IGC, OSHA, or other relevant safety certifications are mandatory.
• Experience: A minimum of 05 years of experience in establishing and operating health and safety systems in the public transport sector or related industries. Experience working with IFC/ADB projects is required. Proven experience in hazard identification and prevention, accident investigation, emergency response, and delivering safety training.
