Allama Iqbal Visiting Fellowship

Basic Eligibility

Candidates must hold a PhD degree from an HEC-recognized university or institution in a relevant research area in the humanities or social science. Applicants must have an excellent record of teaching and research. Candidates will normally be at the level of Associate Professor or above.

Other Requirements

A maximum of 55 years of age on the closing date of the advertisement will be eligible. Must be proficient in the English language. Familiarity with the culture, institutions, and people of the host country is required along with capacity and competence of leadership to project the language, history, and culture of Pakistan. Experience in mentoring, advocacy, communication, organizational work at senior level, budget management, research grants, diplomacy, media relations, and academic staff associations is needed.

Responsibilities

The visiting fellow will engage with students and scholars on Pakistan's history, culture, people, national and regional languages, eminent literary figures, geography, and economic environment. The fellow will engage with university staff in teaching Urdu, Pakistan Studies, Pakistani literature, history, society, and culture. They will also interact with the academic community, attend weekly seminars, and work with university staff to organize conferences, seminars, symposia, workshops, or art exhibitions showcasing Pakistan's culture.
