Job Overview

Abandoned Properties Organization (APO), Government of Pakistan, Karachi, invites expressions of interest (EOI) for the engagement of an experienced Advocate on a contractual basis with a monthly retainership. The role involves representation, legal advisory services, and conduct of litigation in high-value cases involving recovery of public funds and movable assets. Matters involve complex issues relating to banking transactions, securities, Pakistan Investment Bonds (PIBs), Treasury Bills (T-Bills), listed shares, financial fraud, accountability proceedings, and corporate disputes.

Eligibility Criteria

• The Advocate must be duly registered and authorized to practice law in Pakistan.
• Must have at least ten (10) years of experience in handling corporate, banking, financial, commercial, and recovery litigation.
• Demonstrated experience of representing public sector organizations, regulatory authorities, financial institutions, banks, or government departments will be preferred.
• Provide details of major cases handled during the last five years involving significant financial stakes.
• Produce a certificate as an active taxpayer and furnish valid NTN, income tax, and sales tax registration certificates, where applicable.

Submission Requirements

Interested Advocates shall submit:

• Profile/ CV.
• List of major reported and unreported cases handled.
• Details of public sector clients served.
• An affidavit stating that all information furnished is true and correct.
• Declaration of absence of conflict of interest.
• An undertaking to maintain strict confidentiality.
• A declaration to comply with all applicable laws and professional ethics.
• Financial proposal/fee structure in a separate sealed envelope.
