Senior Virologist (BS-18)

Position Overview

The Health Department of Sindh is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Senior Virologist (BS-18). The successful candidate will be a key expert in a government laboratory or research facility, focusing on the study of viruses and related diseases. This senior role is critical for public health surveillance, diagnostics, and research. This post is allocated for the rural quota of Sindh.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible:

• Option 1: PhD in Virology, Microbiology, or Biotechnology from an HEC-recognized university with five (05) years of post-qualification experience in a relevant field in an accredited laboratory/research institute.
• Option 2: M.Phil / M.Sc / BS (16 years of education) in Virology, Microbiology, or Biotechnology from an HEC-recognized university with five (05) years of post-qualification experience.

Age and Domicile

• Age Limit: Applicants must be between 32 and 45 years old.
• Domicile: This position is open to candidates domiciled in the rural areas of Sindh.

Application Process via SPSC

Interested candidates must apply online through the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) portal. The application procedure is as follows:

1. Visit the official SPSC website at www.spsc.gov.pk and complete the online application form. Candidates will need to register on the portal first.
2. After filling out the form, download the system-generated challan for the application fee of Rs. 500/-.
3. Deposit the fee in the designated bank before the deadline.
4. Ensure that all personal details, educational qualifications, and experience are correctly entered as per your official documents, as no changes can be made after the closing date.

The last date for online application submission is July 4, 2025. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the test/interview. No TA/DA will be provided.
