About the Job

Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL), a renowned specialized financial institution, invites applications for the position of Resident Shariah Board Member (RSBM) at its Head Office in Islamabad. The ideal candidate will provide guidance on Shariah compliance, review operational matters, and ensure Islamic banking practices align with relevant regulations and rulings.

Experience and Qualifications

Applicants must have at least four (4) years of experience giving Shariah rulings including Takhassus fil Ifta, or at least five (5) years of post-qualification experience in teaching or research and development in Islamic Banking and Finance. Candidates should possess a Shahadat ul Aalamiyyah degree along with a Bachelor's degree, or a Post Graduate Degree in Kullyyatush Shariah or Kullyyah Usoluddin, L.L.M (Shariah), or equivalent from a recognized institution.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide explanation and clarification to management and staff on products, document process flows, and operational Shariah-related matters.
• Guide the SCD in conducting Shariah compliance reviews of key business areas.
• Review responses to Shariah-related queries of IBI's clients regarding products and services.
• Facilitate the SCD and Training Department in designing and conducting training activities.

Eligibility Criteria

Maximum age limit is 62 years as on the closing date to apply. The appointment will be made on a contract basis for a period of 3 years, which is extendable. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview, and no TA/DA shall be admissible.
