Job Overview

The National School of Public Policy (NSPP), Government of Pakistan, is seeking applications for four (04) regular basis positions of Research Associate (BS-19) for its National Institute of Public Policy (NIPP) wing in Lahore. The role involves conducting research, training, and contributing to policy-oriented studies in various domains of public policy and social sciences.

Qualification and Experience

Candidates must possess a Doctorate/M.Phil/1st class Master's Degree in Public Policy, Economics, Finance, Management, Public Administration, Governance, HR Development, Law, Strategic and Security Studies, History, Political Science, Statistics, Sociology, International Relations, or other relevant subjects of Social Sciences from an HEC recognized institution. Candidates with specific qualifications for Health (MBBS with a postgraduate degree in Public Health) or Education (MA/M.Ed) will be preferred for relevant research areas.
A minimum of 4 years of professional, research, training, or teaching experience in a recognized teaching/research institution is required.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for this position is 45 years (calculated as 40 years + 5 years general age relaxation). Further age relaxation is admissible as per government rules (details in application process).

  • Applicants currently working in Government/Semi-Government/Autonomous Bodies are requested to apply through the proper channel.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. No TA/DA will be admissible.
  • A separate application must be submitted for each post if applying for multiple positions; joint applications will be treated as cancelled.
  • The exact scale of the subject post will be offered by the interview panel based on the successful candidate's level of experience and qualification.
  • NSPP reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or cancel any of the advertised posts without assigning any reason.

  • The appointment would be made subject to verification of experience and educational credentials by the relevant Authority.

Age Relaxation: Following relaxations in the upper age limit will be admissible to the following category of the candidates (Note: Where a candidate is entitled to age relaxation under more than one category specified above, he/she shall be allowed relaxation in age only in one category):
  • (a) Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Buddhist Community, recognized tribes of the Tribal Areas, Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas for all posts under the Federal Government: 3 years.
  • (b) Candidates belonging to Sindh (R) and Balochistan for posts in BPS-15 and below under the Federal Government: 3 years.
  • (ii) Released or retired officers/personnel of the Armed Forces of Pakistan: 15 years or the number of years actually served in the Armed Forces of Pakistan, whichever is less.
  • (iii) Government Servant and contract employee who have completed 02 years continuous government service on the closing date for receipt of application: 10 years, up to the age of 55 years.
  • (iv) Disable persons for appointment to post in BPS-15 and below: 10 years.
  • (v) Widow, son or daughter of a deceased civil servant who died during service: 5 years.
