Job Overview

A leading public sector organization is inviting applications for the role of Principal Staff Officer (PSO) to the Chairman on a two-year contract basis. The PSO will be a key figure, acting as the primary liaison, managing the Chairman's office, preparing crucial documents, and ensuring smooth coordination. This position demands a dynamic, proactive, and highly professional individual with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

The Principal Staff Officer will undertake a range of critical responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Acting as the primary liaison between the Chairman and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Managing the Chairman's office, including scheduling, correspondence, documentation, and briefings.
  • Preparing background notes, talking points, and summaries for meetings, conferences, and official engagements, after seeking input from relevant departments/stakeholders.
  • Accompanying the Chairman on official visits/tours and recording all public announcements, directives, and orders made during such engagements.
  • Ensuring follow-up on decisions and directives issued by the Chairman.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • Coordinating with departments for timely provision of reports and updates to the Chairman.
  • Assisting in drafting official communications, speeches, and presentations.
  • Serving as the overall coordinator and supervisor of the Chairman's Secretariat including PS/PAs, and Press-related functions.
  • Preparing comprehensive tour notes and, after the Chairman's approval, circulating them to the relevant departments/agencies for appropriate follow-up action.
  • Compiling and circulating the Chairman's daily, weekly, and monthly engagement diaries, ensuring all meetings and events are well-organized and coordinated.
  • Collecting and reviewing departmental views/comments on the demands and issues likely to be presented by individuals or delegations during meetings with the Chairman.
  • Putting up important correspondence, reports, and letters addressed to the Chairman for his perusal before forwarding for further necessary action.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • A Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Law or any relevant/appropriate discipline from HEC recognized or foreign institution.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in a senior coordination, management, protocol, or executive support role, preferably in a public sector or high-level government office.
  • Strong command over official communication, report writing, and administrative procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and modern digital tools.
  • Officers (retired) from armed forces are also encouraged to apply.

Age Limit

The age limit for applicants is 40-55 years (including 5 years general age relaxation).
