Position Overview
The Planning & Development Department (P&DD) of the Government of Sindh invites applications from experienced professionals and experts to fill the position of Member (Information Technology). The department is a key body focusing on policy, planning, and development within the province, processing development schemes and maintaining liaison with national and international agencies. The selected candidate will be appointed on a contract basis to strengthen and build the capacity of the department, playing a pivotal role in its technological advancement.Key Responsibilities
The Member (Information Technology) will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:- Preparation of short, medium, and long-term IT plans.
- Providing technical input in the processing of development schemes for approval at various levels (DDWP, PDWP, CDWP & ECNEC).
- Offering technical support and advice on all matters related to Information Technology.
- Appraisal, processing, monitoring, and evaluation of development schemes in the IT sector.
- Developing annual plans and strategies aligned with the IT policy of the Province.
- Overseeing the overall automation in the P&D Department and managing the data center.
- Developing customized software applications to expedite the automation process.
- Establishing coordination with line departments, other provinces, and the Federal Government on IT-related matters.
Required Qualification and Experience
Candidates must meet one of the following two criteria:Option 1:
- A Ph.D. in the field of Information Technology or Computer Science (or equivalent) from a recognized University.
- Must hold Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, B.E Electrical, B.E Electronics, or any relevant degree.
- A minimum of 06 years of experience in the relevant field.
Option 2:
- A Master's Degree in Computer Science or an IT-relevant degree (or equivalent) from a recognized University.
- Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, B.E Electrical, or B.E Electronics.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the relevant field.
