Lab Assistant (IT)

Key Responsibilities

Manage, monitor, and ensure the smooth daily operation of the IT computer laboratories across the campus.
Perform routine computer hardware maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Install, configure, update, and troubleshoot operating systems, drivers, and required academic software applications.
Diagnose and resolve basic local area network (LAN) issues, Wi-Fi connectivity problems, and cable layout management.
Provide active technical support and assistance to faculty, students, and invigilators during practical classes, lab sessions, and online examinations.
Maintain an organized inventory of lab equipment, software licenses, accessories, and technical consumables.
Ensure lab safety protocols, clean environment, and compliance with institutional IT policies.

Qualifications

Diploma / Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
Intermediate (HSSC) qualified candidates are also eligible if they possess strong, proven practical technical knowledge and hands-on skills.

Required Experience & Skills

Practical expertise in PC hardware assembly, hardware diagnostics, and software/OS troubleshooting.
Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, IP configurations, and hardware maintenance.
Prior experience as an IT Lab Attendant, Computer Technician, or Support Specialist (preferably in an educational setting) is an advantage.
