Qualifications and Experience

The candidate must be a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and a member of a recognized professional accountancy body. A minimum of 10 years of experience as an Internal Auditor or in a higher post at reputed organizations is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and exceptional analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

The Internal Auditor will have an in-depth understanding of International Auditing and Accounting Standards. Key responsibilities include conducting regular internal audits across all departments and functions, concluding assignments, and presenting audit reports to senior management within prescribed timelines. The role also involves providing objective and independent assessments and recommendations to improve internal controls.
The Internal Auditor will serve as a key advisor to senior management on governance, legal compliance, internal control systems, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation strategies. A solid grasp of Corporate, Tax, and PPRA laws is essential, along with expertise in audit principles and techniques. Proficiency in working within a Computer Information Systems (CIS) environment is required, and familiarity with Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) will be an advantage. Additional certifications will be considered a plus.
