Role Overview
National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), a leading financial institution, is seeking a talented and experienced Infrastructure Security Analyst (OG-I / AVP) to join their Information Technology team in Karachi. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing the security posture of the bank's IT infrastructure.Reporting Structure
The Infrastructure Security Analyst will report directly to the Unit Head – Infrastructure Security & Compliance.Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the security and compliance of the organization's technological infrastructure (IT systems, networks, hardware, software, data centers).
- Analyze logs from network security devices and server infrastructure.
- Provide management reporting on security compliance according to organizational standards and best practices.
- Perform triage analysis on endpoint security solutions.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments for network applications and operating systems.
- Manage the integration of network appliances, Windows, Linux, and databases with SIEM.
- Perform daily security tasks, including updating Indicators of Compromise (IOC) and other security controls.
- Create and develop dashboards, identify anomalies, and report exceptions.
- Analyze phishing emails and respond accordingly.
- Stay updated with emerging security threats and update teams.
- Participate in vulnerability management processes, including evaluation and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with 3rd party vendors and other IT domains to ensure infrastructure security meets regulatory, bank, and industry standards.
- Conduct continuous monitoring, regular self-assessments, and provide support upon escalation.
- Implement best practices for infrastructure design, support, and operation (on-premises and cloud).
- Schedule and manage frequent internal vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
- Develop, measure, and monitor IT system availability and performance standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in IT / Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent from an HEC recognized institution. A Master's degree or relevant certifications are preferred.
- Minimum 04 years of experience in IT Infrastructure Operations / Security, preferably within the banking sector.
Skills and Expertise
- Sound understanding of Cyber Security, Log Analysis, Incident Handling, Ethical Hacking, Cybersecurity Techniques, Vulnerability Scanning, SIEM, Email Security, Antivirus, IPS/IDS, AMP, WAF, Operating Systems, Network Security Controls, Scripting etc.
- Expertise in managing security and compliance aspects of IT infrastructure.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Desire to work in a cohesive, high-performing team and a passion for learning and growth.
