Job Overview

The Finance Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is inviting applications for the position of Head of Research. This is a challenging and rewarding contract-based role, initially for one year, that requires a visionary leader to direct research initiatives in financial management, investment strategy, and risk analysis. The Head of Research will play a crucial role in informing policy decisions and contributing to the effective management of financial resources within the government.

Key Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for the Head of Research position, candidates must possess a minimum of ten (10) years of top-tier relevant professional experience. This experience should be primarily in the field of Financial Management, Accounting, Finance, Business or Risk Management, capital market analysis, or designing investment strategy and risk analysis, with exposure to both Pakistani and international markets. A track record of outstanding achievement that is demonstrable and verifiable, including the experience of leading teams, is mandatory. Applicants must have a minimum of sixteen years of formal education from a reputable local or international institution in fields such as Economics, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, and MS-IT. Professional certifications like CFA/FRM/ACCA/CA are highly desirable. Candidates with relevant experience in the public, private, or development sectors, or a combination thereof, are encouraged to apply.

Recruitment Procedure

The recruitment process for the Head of Research will proceed in three distinct phases:

• Stage 1: Application/CV Review: All applications will undergo a thorough review, and shortlisted candidates will be selected based on their academic credentials, overall quality, and track record.
• Stage 2: Written Test: Shortlisted candidates will proceed to a written test. This comprehensive assessment will cover financial, technical, and strategic skills, and may include case-study or problem-solving approaches. Candidates achieving a minimum qualifying score will be moved to the next stage.
• Stage 3: Interview: The final stage involves an interview with a three-member panel, which will evaluate the candidate’s suitability for the position.

• A cover letter plays a key role in determining whether an application is accepted or rejected; therefore, unprofessional cover letters will lead to rejection.
