Role Overview

Trans Karachi, the implementing agency for the Karachi BRT Red Line Project, is seeking a dynamic and highly experienced GM Operations. This pivotal role involves leading and managing all operational aspects of the BRT system, ensuring efficiency, safety, and high-quality service delivery to the citizens of Karachi. The GM Operations will play a crucial part in shaping a game-changing public transport project for the city.

Key Responsibilities

The GM Operations will be responsible for a wide range of strategic and operational duties, including but not limited to:

• Overseeing the planning and execution of public transport services.
• Developing and implementing operational strategies and policies.
• Managing and optimizing the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).
• Ensuring quality management across all operational facets.
• Leading station operations and staff training.
• Preparing and managing O&M contracts.
• Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identifying and resolving operational challenges and leading crisis management.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Qualification: Master's degree from an HEC recognized university in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field. Expertise in public transport service planning, operations strategic planning, transport ITS, sub-computing, networking, data center management, quality management, and station training is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 05 years in a senior management role. Experience in managing and coordinating public transport operations is essential. International experience in the BRT or commercial public transport industry is an added advantage. Proven experience in preparing and administering O&M contracts, developing KPIs, and a successful track record are necessary.
