Job Overview

The Agency for Barani Areas Development (ABAD), a government body under the Planning & Development Board, Government of Punjab, is inviting applications for one GIS Assistant position. This role is part of the 'Construction of Mini-Dams in Potohar Region' project, aimed at enhancing development and welfare within the farming community. Based in Rawalpindi, the GIS Assistant will be crucial for managing and analyzing geospatial data, which is vital for the planning, monitoring, and execution of dam construction projects.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants for the GIS Assistant position must hold a Bachelor's degree (14 years of education, Second Division) in GIS, Remote Sensing & GIS, or Geo-Informatics from a university recognized by the HEC. Alternatively, candidates with a DAE (Diploma of Associate Engineer) in Electronics/Electrical are also eligible. A minimum of two (02) years of post-qualification experience in a public or private sector organization is required in one or more of the following areas: Web GIS, GIS Application development, Arc GIS Server and Open Source Server, Flex viewer, and JavaScript. The age limit for applicants is a maximum of 32 years. This combination of qualifications and experience ensures that the candidate possesses both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in geospatial technologies.

Remuneration and Contract Duration

The GIS Assistant position is offered on a project basis with a Pay Scale (PPS-04) and a duration of 06 Man Months. The per unit cost for this position is Rs. 60,000/- per month. This contractual arrangement is aligned with the project's timeline and operational needs.

Eligibility Criteria and Domicile
