Position Summary: Executive Director

HEC is seeking applications from dynamic, visionary, and highly accomplished professionals of international eminence with proven ability for the position of Executive Director (ED). This role is offered on a contract basis and serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Commission. The Executive Director is primarily responsible for leading the implementation of HEC's strategic agenda, overseeing its operational management, and ensuring accountability and efficiency in all its functions, aligning them with national priorities.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

Candidates applying for the Executive Director position should possess an advanced degree, with a preference for a PhD in any discipline. The role requires diverse experience at a senior level in both public and/or private sectors. Applicants must have a proven record of eminence and significant contribution in the field of higher education, management, and leadership. Essential qualities include being a creative consensus builder with the capacity to listen and effectively build a great management team, equipped with skills appropriate to their tasks. An excellent recruiter of personnel is also desired. Furthermore, extensive experience in financial management, resource mobilization, and a strong commitment to staff development are critical for this position. It is important to note that 'Experience' refers to experience gained after obtaining the minimum required qualification.

Tenure and Remuneration

The position of Executive Director is offered on a contract basis with a tenure of 04 years. The successful candidate will be placed on Pay Scale: MP-I, which is a high-level remuneration scale designed for top management positions within government organizations.

Maximum Age Limit

The maximum age limit for applicants is 65 years at the time of application.
