Deputy Director Transport & Bus Operation

Job Responsibilities

The Deputy Director Transport & Bus Operation will report to the Director (Operations) and will be responsible for a wide range of duties to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the bus transit system. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the bus fleet and generating reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Examining statistics at the command and control center.
• Providing mechanical advice related to bus operations and fleet management.
• Ensuring the enforcement of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and the maintenance of the bus depot.
• Undertaking any other tasks assigned by the management of the SMTA.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this position:

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline from a HEC recognized university.
• Advantageous Qualifications: Higher qualifications, specialization, and/or a foreign qualification in public transport systems, BRT operations, or fleet management will be considered an added advantage.
• Experience: A minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience is required. This experience should include areas such as urban transport operations, BRT systems, fleet scheduling, or contract management.
