Costing Analyst

Job Responsibilities

Analyze production, material, labor, and overhead costs to ensure accurate cost allocation.
Prepare detailed cost reports and variance analyses to identify inefficiencies.
Track and report cost fluctuations, highlighting potential cost-saving opportunities.
Assist in preparing cost budgets and forecasts based on historical trends and business objectives.
Work with finance and operations teams to develop cost estimates for new products or projects.
Monitor actual costs versus budgeted figures and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Calculate and maintain standard product costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
Provide cost inputs for pricing decisions and profitability analysis.
Support new product development by estimating and analyzing projected costs.
Conduct monthly and quarterly cost variance analysis and identify key cost drivers.
Investigate cost deviations and recommend corrective actions to improve cost efficiency.
Assist in implementing cost control initiatives and process improvements.

Qualification and Experience

Education: MBA - Finance from a reputable university.
Experience: 4 to 5 years of proven experience in cost accounting or financial evaluation.

Key Skills and Competencies

Deep understanding of standard costing, activity-based costing and variance analysis.
Precision in tracking small financial discrepancies that impact profit margins.
Skill to investigate cost overruns and propose actionable solutions.
